Presidency Speaks On Fake News Of Buhari And Abba Kyari Secretly Flown Outside The Country For Treatment


The Presidency has described the report that President Muhammadu Buhari and his sick Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari were secretly flown abroad for treatment as False.

This is coming after Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari tested positive for the pandemic Coronavirus disease, while PMB tested negative.


The fears emanating in some quarters is that the Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari may have transmitted the virus to more people in the presidency stoked an allegation circulated online that both Kyari and his superior (Buhari) had been flown abroad for treatment.

The report tagged ‘LEAKED Audio: Buhari, Abba Kyari, secretly flown out of Nigeria?’, was circulated by one, @jacksonpbn‘ and it has generated a lot of conversations (#WhereisBuhari now trending on Twitter)


Reacting to the report, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina said, “Why do some people imagine vain things and concoct lies and evil? Simple. Their minds are diseased and incapable of clean and edifying thoughts. President Buhari is on top of ensuring that Nigerians are kept safe from Covid-19. The good work continues.”

Similarly, the Personal Assistant to President on News Media, Bashir Ahmad described the report as fake.

In his words, "FAKE NEWS ALERT: The voice note that President @MBuhari and Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari have been secretly flown out of the country is totally UNTRUE. It was intentionally recorded to cause chaos and fear. This fake news was originated and being circulated by one @jacksonpbn."
